International Plastic Bag Free

Special thanks to all who participated in the very first Interntional Plastic Bag Free Day on Saturday September 12, 2009. Over 100 towns in UK participated in the event by doing away with plastic bags for the entire day. In Paia, Hawaii the merchants co-operated in a no more baggage hour between 5-6 pm H. S.T. where they refrained from giving out disposable bags all together (no paper or plastic) and many of the merchants did this for the entire day with success! Next year will be the second annual Plastic Bag Free day and here in North America we will be doing another No more baggage hour event between 3-4 pm from the East to the West coast on April 17, 2010. We hope to gain the support of large and small retail stores across North America. Sign up early and help us spread the word:

Plastic Bag Free Towns: Several Individuals have spearheaded plastic bag free campaigns in their home towns and have inspired the majority of their town merchants and local residents to become plastic shopping bag free.
